Artist Profile of Jordan Leigh Miller

Jordan Leigh Miller, a Winnipeg artist, graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (University of Manitoba, Honours, ’02) with majors in Drawing, Painting & Mixed Media.  She also holds a diploma in Arts and Cultural Management (University of Winnipeg, ’08).

Current memberships include Arts and Cultural Industries of Manitoba (ACI), Urban Shaman, and Mentoring Art for Women’s Art (MAWA). Jordan is a past Member of Manitoba Society of Artists (MSA), aceart, and CARFAC.  She has mentored artists in both the creation and the marketing of art. She has exhibited in many group and solo shows in Winnipeg.

Her most recent solo exhibitions were It all Starts with a Line (2015, cre8ery) Life Structures and Other Personalities (2010, cre8ery) and Finding Home; Searching Self (2012, Piano Noble Gallery).  Jordan collaborated with Dave Swiecicki in their most recent exhibition: Sweet & Innocent (2013, cre8ery).  Jordan Miller & Elaine Baril hosted an exhibition at Golden Prairie Arts Council “Imaginary Places & Faces” in 2015. In 2016 Jordan exhibited in 4 group shows in January, February, March and April.

In 2011, Jordan was the recipient of the 35th Annual Woman of Distinction Award, in the Arts Category.  The Province of Manitoba recently purchased “Finding Home” which made its permanent home at “Canada House” on Donald Street in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Jordan was one of three finalists for the Future Leaders Of Manitoba Awards (2015).

Jordan is currently working on producing new works for her exhibition at Gallery In the Park in June and July 2017.

Jordan paints in an abstract style with acrylics and enhances her pieces with mixed media, image transfers, and found objects.  She is currently working on her next solo exhibition in addition to her positions as an Art Consultant, Art Instructor, and Owner / Director at cre8ery gallery & studio.

And she is also the Curator of Nott Autocorp.
